Jan Kearce

Board Chair

Jan Kearce brings an important balance of both nonprofit and private sector experience, specifically in development, human resources and leadership training, coaching and development. In addition to almost 20 years in human resources in the manufacturing industry, she has nearly a decade of experience within the Outward Bound system, including as Executive Director of Development and Human Resources at the Hurricane Island Outward Bound School and as Transition/Consolidation Director for Outward Bound Inc. when that organization underwent a national restructuring. Most recently, she has worked as the Vice President for Sustainability at The Nebo Company, a small Washington, D.C. based for-profit where she led the development and delivery of customized leadership training, coaching and mentoring programs, and strategy consulting services.

 

Kearce received her Master’s in Human Resources Development with a focus on Organizational Development and Design at American University/NTL and her BA in Journalism from the University of Georgia. She also earned her Leadership Coaching certificate at Georgetown University.


Andy Miser

Vice Chair

Andrew L. Miser, Ph.D. is a trained psychologist, marriage and family therapist and professional coach with over 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples, teams and organizations. He is certified as a professional coach through the Coaches Training Institute and has a professional background in psychology and marriage and family therapy.

 

Andy received a Ph.D. in developmental psychology at the University of Connecticut in 1985. During his career, he has worked as a psychologist for the State of Connecticut, as a consultant and an executive director for a non-profit human services firm and as a psychologist and marriage and family therapist in private practice. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the International Coach Federation, New England Chapter, and the Board of Directors of the Global Sufficiency Network. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and the International Coaches Federation. He currently lives with his wife, Martha, in Boston, Massachusetts.


Denice LaBuda

Treasure & Secretary

Denise LaBuda is a financial education and marketing expert with over 25 years of experience and accomplishments in a variety of settings including small and large-scale businesses. She has extensive domain expertise in personal finance and investing for children and adults. She is an entrepreneurial leader with a proven track record achieving bottom-line results.

 

As founder & CEO of the Economic Independence Group™, LLC (EIG), Denise LaBuda directs development, distribution and sales of educational products and services to help parents, businesses, teachers and nonprofit organizations provide children with a strong financial education.

 

Ms LaBuda has also held a number of positions at Fortune 500 companies and in Academia. Ms. LaBuda holds a Masters of Arts in Education from The University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Michigan.


 

Cindy Atlee
 

 

Cindy Atlee is a creative thinker and communicator who's loaded with intellectual curiosity, passionate about powerful ideas, and valued as a mentor/teacher/advisor. She combines her extensive executive experience in branding, communications and planning with innovative training in organizational culture and identity, leadership development and personality type.

 

Since completing Dr. Carol S. Pearson's postgraduate program in Transformational Leadership at Georgetown University in 2003, Cindy has worked extensively with Dr. Pearson's tools. Creator of the storybranding process and a variety of story-based communications and typing tools, Cindy’s work has won multiple awards and been used by such organizations as Kashi, NASA, Volunteers of America, and Procter & Gamble. In addition to her consulting and planning work, she is a frequent speaker and workshop leader who was rated top speaker at the Advanced Learning Institute’s Internal Branding Conference.

 

When she isn’t deeply engaged in her work, you might find Cindy art journaling, playing with her four cats, dreaming up her next creative adventure, or driving her husband crazy with yet another home design project.


Marilyn Levin,MSW
Executive Director

 

Marilyn Levin, MSW is a social entrepreneur engaged in several global initiatives committed to changing the course of history. She is a professional speaker and trainer, an author and an award winning activist. She directs her passion and talent in service of personal and global transformation so that we can create a world that works for everyone and pass it along to future generations, www.marilynlevin.com. Cyndi Smasal
Marketing, IT, & Finance Director

 

Having developed, and marketed hundreds of websites, Cyndi is a Master Internet Marketing Strategist. Her extraordinary ability to discern what’s missing, to retool and strategically market products and services online, has made her a highly sought after resource for Internet Marketing expertise.

 

Cyndi has a strong technical background in Computer Science and IT.
