Please share with us your stories of how these challenging--and for many

of us--precarious economic times are affecting you.

Have you discovered inner resources, strengths, or talents

you didn't know you had?

How has your perspective about money and maybe even your

definition of "needs" and "enough (sufficiency)" shifted?

What strikes you about the impact on your family and your community?

How have you surprised yourself? The gift of sharing your story may

empower others to find the strength to do the same. Thank you so much

for opening your hearts and sharing yourselves through this blog.

With love and respect,

    Hello everyone,

On the invitation of Lynn, I'd loved to share a bit of my journey of inner economics. Here's something I wrote this morning entitled: "What Does Your Heart Have to Say?"

"I have just returned from a 4-day conference in Seattle, titled: “The Black Madonna and the Future of Money”. I went, not entirely knowing what to expect; I came home with a more embodied sense of knowing what comes next.

The irony though, is that what comes next includes both a “doing” and “non-doing”.

On one hand it is a time of urgent action, a stepping up to the plate so that we can play our role in the current changing times. Each one of us has something to say; each one of us has a unique contribution to bring forth. However this will not occur in a vacuum, we can not merely think our way there, it needs to be felt, embodied and understood in the deepest layers of our being. And this requires a non-doing, an allowing.

By not-doing we begin to stop and slow down. We take the recess that our economic system is actually “forcing” us to do. (I actually see it as an invitation). We find the time that we so long to have, a time to be with loved ones, ourselves and to go inside. Once there the practice of non-doing is one of active receptivity, active because “true receiving” requires that we not fall asleep. It is much easier to go numb, but the world is calling for something else. It is time that we actively pay attention to what is right there in front of our nose.

How? Take a moment, close your eyes, and imagine a firefly landing on your heart and showing you the doorway in. The firefly will help you stay focused as it “touches” your heart and brings you back to your own life beating. What is it that your heart is dying to say? What would be the words it would use if you gave it voice? What is it that you want to tell the world…

Start there, tell the firefly and then tell the rest of us. Hurry….the world is waiting.

(yes, I'm learning to speak my voice to!!)
